History of Riedlingsdorf
1331:
The first reference in a official document under the name RADOMFALVA.
1388:
The name of the village is now RODINSTORFF and it is part of the territory of Bernstein.
1392:
The name of the village is REUDENSTORFF.
1435:
The name of the village is RUDINGSTORFF.
1459:
A fight between the troops of the Habsburger Friedrich III. and his rival Matthias Corvinus take place on the Lampelfeld, a part of the village, which is in neighbourhood to the town of Pinkafeld.
1532:
3000 islamic fighters under command of Ibrahim Pascha advance to the east of Styria. It is possible that they destroy Riedlingsdorf, because villages in the neighbourhood like Pinkafeld and Buchschachen are destroyed too. 
1569:I
The village is called RIEGERSTORFF in a official document of the territory of Bernstein. Now the territory of Bernstein is owned by the family Königsberg. The village consits of 90 buildings. The inhabitants are farmers. Their products are grain and also wine. 
1648:
The name of village is RIEDLINGSTORFF. The ownership is also changing, because the territory of Bernstein is bought by the familiy Batthyany. 
1697:
Members of the former ownerfamily Königsberg were protestants, so 570 from 700 Riedlingsdorfer are protestants too. 
1795:
The first protestant school is founded.
1811:
The corner stone ceremony for the roman catholic church take place in the middle of the village. The bishop of Steinamanger inaugurates the church five years later.
1832:
1173 people lives in 181 buildings in the village.
1849:
The school (called Turmschule) is rebuild. Many generations of Riedlingsdorfer will be teached in the school till 1970.
1899:
There are 220 buildings with 1665 people in the village. This is the highest number of inhabitants for the next hundred years.
1914 - 1918:
43 people from Riedlingsdorf are killed during World War I.
1921:
The Burgenland gets part of Austria as result of World War I. The village, which was called RÖDÖN in the years of hungarian government, gets now the final name RIEDLINGSDORF.
Many people from Riedlingsdorf have to immigrant to America on economic reasons in this time. They follow other people from Riedlingsdorf, which immigranted in the years before World War I. There will be also a lot of immigrants in the years after World War II. 
1938:
Entry of German troops in Austria. The Burgenland is splitting up between Lower Austria and Styria and so Riedlingsdorf becomes part of Styria.
1939 - 1945:
100 people from Riedlingsdorf are killed during World War II and during the Nazi government. The Red Army marching in to Riedlingsdorf and the village belongs to the Soviet part of Austria till 1955. 
1970 - 1980:
During the government of Gustav Schranz many infrastructur projects are realized, like the erection of the new primary school, the regulation of the river Pinka, the erection of the water conduit, the waste water drain and the mortuary. These projects are the basic of life in the village till our days. 
1990 - 2000:
Many new buildings in the village are erected, the changes in the society and economy are responsible for better conditions for life. At the end of the millenium the village consits of more than 500 buildings with 1600 people. 
2000:
New infrastructure projects like the new foundation of the municipal centre starts.
